Baseball Shutout at Ohio Northern - Capital University (2024)

ADA, Ohio – The Capital University baseball team ran into a pitching buzzsaw today as the team collected just three hits in a doubleheader shutout at Ohio Northern. The Polar Bears won the games via 11-0 and 6-0 scores.

The results make Capital 8-23 overall (2-12 OAC) and Ohio Northern 17-14 on the year (8-6 OAC).

In game one, Capital's lone base hit came courtesy of Cole Boroff as Ohio Northern's Blake Altaffer hurled a nine innings one-hit shutout.

Trevor Woodyard, Ethan Pollack, Logan Detty, Adam Frump and Colin Boldin combined for the pitching in game one.

In the nightcap, Ohio Northern again benefitted from a pitching masterclass as three Polar Bears combined for a two-hit, three-walk shutout.

Scott Moats and Robby Harrison accounted for the two Capital hits, while Kielan LaMarr, Moats, and Jared Carpenter drew walks in the game.

Tyler Bebout, Brian Young, Ben Mohler, and Braden Lewis combined for the nine innings of pitching.
